Featured Story: “LOLA’S MAIN PRIORITY WAS HER FAMILY”
FundLove, a non-profit organization founded by Diane O. Zaccagnino, recently launched its inaugural campaign, I AM MORE THAN CANCER. The goal of this campaign is to activate the cancer community in new ways in order to help eradicate the disease.
One way that FundLove is engaging patients, family members, clinicians, and others is by providing them with a web-based platform to share their stories with others in the community, inspiring them and sharing ways in which they are dealing with this disease.
One such story, is the story of Lola, shared by her granddaughter, Marydel. Despite Lola’s intense battle with cancer, she always put others first. In fact, during one of her hospital stays, Lola started asking her family if they had eaten, what they had eaten, and if they would like to share some of her hospital food.
Lola lived an inspiration life, making sure her family and loved were always taken care of, and in this way Lola was always MORE THAN CANCER.
